Tracey attended Dentistry @No3 and initially met with our Smile Advisor Leigh.

She explained her concerns about multiple loose teeth and an upper denture which was almost un-wearable.

She was unhappy with her smile – it was massively affecting her confidence and she felt that she could not go out and socialise any more.

Tracey’s Treatment

Tracey had been considering more complex treatment for years, but was stuck in a cycle of having her teeth patched up and continually having teeth added to the loose upper denture. As well as restoring oral health and function, Tracey was keen to have a great smile again.

Tracey saw our dentist Ali for a full clinical assessment to check her general oral health, take full mouth radiographs, a 3D CT scan of the bone and digital intra-oral scans of the remaining teeth and gums. Ali was then able to discuss the case easily with the patient using visual aids, helping the patient understand what treatment was needed and why. A diagnosis and personalised treatment plan was then developed for Tracey.

For this specific case we extracted the teeth, immediately fitted healing dentures then proceeded with two implants in the lower jaw. The teeth were then restored with bespoke 3D dentures.

The treatment began with our lab making immediate 3D healing dentures. These were made from the initial assessment intra-oral digital scans. This enabled us to go straight into treatment at the second visit where we extracted all of the remaining teeth and transitioned Tracey into immediate healing dentures.

Following a short period of healing, two dental implants were placed in the lower jaw. The healing dentures were relined to improve comfort and fit whilst the mouth healed and the tissues settled.

After a further 12 weeks and the integration of the two dental implants, the implants were solid and ready to be used to support the lower denture.

Ali spent four visits recording all of the necessary information for Tracey’s new teeth. The stages involved were: primary impressions, secondary impressions and recording of the bite, try-in to check the bite and appearance of the teeth, and finally the fit. The treatment from start to finish took around six months.

I’ve been ok with dentists and needles but there is something about getting work done that I get really anxious about. I had a filling on the NHS which chipped after 2 weeks. I saw Fraser for an appointment on the Monday who took the time to talk me through all my options and show me what was going on. 3 days later and I’m being seen (after I finished work for the day) by the excellent Natalie for a clean and to have it repaired (compared to the 2 months from identifying I needed the filling to having it done on the NHS). I was very nervous about the repair but she has a lovely calm demeanour which puts you at ease. She took her time, and it never felt like she was stressed or rushed, and she was happy to answer my questions after about taking care of her handiwork and how long the repair will last. She took her time with the anaesthetic and I felt far more numb (and so I was confident I was numb) than on the NHS. Even her assistant checked in if I was ok. The drill was also so much quieter than what I’d been used to on the NHS, and I didn’t realise how much that sound had put me on edge.I love the NHS so wasn’t sure about going private, but the whole experience felt so different. I usually come away from a filling feeling tense and ashamed. I realised I’d started to relax before Natalie had finished her work, and I left feeling that next time I need work done I don’t need to spend the afternoon worrying about it.

We hat a trial 2 weeks ago and everything was looking good.Ali asked me my opinion with the colour of the denture and matched me with a few to let me see. Went with his judgement and expertise, WELL the colour match was awsum when I got them to try on.they looked so natural, white but no false.Ali made a couple of changes to the implants, (his executive decision) as he said Hahaha, they were for the better 😉.The work Ali and the team have done was awsum. I was SO nervous to get my few bottom teeth out, that's why I waited so long. But Ali and the team assured me all would be good, and they were not wrong.I have my top and bottom teeth done and I'm so so happy with the results. I can't thank all the team/staff enough they are all a credit to each other.The timeliness from the first day I met Lee for my consultation ho was brilliant made me feel at ease, until my final day with Ali was roughly 8/9 months. it went by quickly and defenetly no pain, lots of care and attention.To Ali the Staff and the Team many many thanksThis concludes my journey I hope it helps.Best wishes to you all.Stanley. I have had massive problems with my teeth for many years. Recurrent infections, including progression into a sinus cavity, had numerous teeth out, constant anxiety about my teeth breaking/crumbling & a LOT of trauma from some really awful dental experiences.Anyway from the first meeting with Leigh, to my initial appointment with Ali a plan was made. I can honestly say Ali has cured my fear of dentists, he has such a positive & calming manner. I had to have sedation previously at the dentist however with Ali i’ve had a tooth extraction, bone grafting, fillings, crowns and dental implants & it’s been absolutely no problem at all.
