I’ve been ok with dentists and needles but there is something about getting work done that I get really anxious about. I had a filling on the NHS which chipped after 2 weeks. I saw Fraser for an appointment on the Monday who took the time to talk me through all my options and show me what was going on. 3 days later and I’m being seen (after I finished work for the day) by the excellent Natalie for a clean and to have it repaired (compared to the 2 months from identifying I needed the filling to having it done on the NHS). I was very nervous about the repair but she has a lovely calm demeanour which puts you at ease. She took her time, and it never felt like she was stressed or rushed, and she was happy to answer my questions after about taking care of her handiwork and how long the repair will last. She took her time with the anaesthetic and I felt far more numb (and so I was confident I was numb) than on the NHS. Even her assistant checked in if I was ok. The drill was also so much quieter than what I’d been used to on the NHS, and I didn’t realise how much that sound had put me on edge.I love the NHS so wasn’t sure about going private, but the whole experience felt so different. I usually come away from a filling feeling tense and ashamed. I realised I’d started to relax before Natalie had finished her work, and I left feeling that next time I need work done I don’t need to spend the afternoon worrying about it.

I had to have sedation previously at the dentist however with Ali i’ve had a tooth extraction, bone grafting, fillings, crowns and dental implants & it’s been absolutely no problem at all. He really understood that I liked to be talked through a treatment, (in a lot of very graphic detail at times) & was very patient with this.I’m nearly at the end of the journey (for now) & have so much more confidence, I can eat properly, smile properly & have no more pain.Thanks so much to Ali & the team at Dentistry No3, I would recommend them to anyone, particularly if you are nervous or need a lot of work done.
